What is tae kwon do?

Tae Kwon Do is the name of the Korean art many people think of as Karate (Japanese for “empty hand”). It is a popular sport throughout the world, but it has much more to offer than entertainment and physical fitness. Tae Kwon Do contains a philosophy; code of ethics; a set of values that can literally be called a way of life. Tae Kwon Do is called an “art” for several reasons. As with any other form of “art”, Tae Kwon Do requires time, patience and diligent practice to perform the techniques with skill.

When performed correctly, the movements are graceful, coordinated and aesthetically beautiful. Tae Kwon Do allows room for improvement, as no one can perform each technique perfectly each time. There is always room for growth and creativity. In Tae Kwon Do, the techniques can be adapted, added to or created to meet any circumstance.

Who Can Learn tae kwon do?

Anyone can learn Tae Kwon Do, regardless of age. We have different class levels and all our instructors specialize in certain age groups. We being training children as young as 4 years old. We also have family group classes and special adult classes. If you are not comfortable in a large group atmosphere, small group instruction is available as well.
